Menopause is without a doubt a radically transformative time in a woman’s life. But beyond embracing this new stage, there is the reality of dealing with what are sometimes extremely uncomfortable symptoms. One of the most well-known symptoms of menopause is hot flashes. Although every woman is different, most can agree it can be a challenge to deal with these sporadic rises in body temperature that can occur at any time of the day or night. Furthermore, how women experience hot flashes can vary widely, enough so that researchers recently classified women into four different categories based on the timing and duration of their hot flashes.
